Mostafa Salem is a passionate architect and urbanist dedicated to restoring Cairo’s architectural heritage and reimagining its future. Best known for spearheading the restoration of the iconic 115-year-old Tiring Building in Attaba Square, Salem brings a unique blend of technical skill, historical sensitivity, and public engagement to his work. Through his initiative Cairo Makeover, he has become a prominent advocate for conserving the city’s late 19th and early 20th-century buildings—driven by a belief that architecture should serve both memory and modern living. Inspired by walkable cities and sustainable design, Salem's work bridges the past and future, reminding us that with care and creativity, Cairo can be beautiful again.
